what our buyers are saying...
"We are so happy to be living in a beautiful home built by Alaina and her team. As we looked for our first home, we struggled to find the right fit – something that didn’t feel too cookie cutter. We stumbled upon an Alaina’s Restorations listing that at the time was mostly a floorplan, a design, and an idea.
Over time, we kept coming back to the listing for that little blue house. We checked out Alaina’s previous work and were struck by the unique details and the quality of the work. We first walked through our home when it was still in the drywall phase – but we quickly fell in love. Alaina is passionate about the work of restoring historic homes, and her excitement and vision are contagious! She and her team truly care about both the homes they restore and the buyers who choose them – and this commitment continues after the sale.
We loved choosing our home early in the restoration process and having a voice in the design. The result is a beautiful and wholly unique blend of modern and historic design that we are so happy to call home!"

"Buying a house for the first time is intimidating. We had no knowledge to guide the process of looking for a home, and we were always fearful that someone with more knowledge was going to take advantage of us.
Luck would have it that Emma found a picture of an adorable yellow brick home online. It hadn't even been built yet, but the illustrations were enticing. Our realtor set up several houses for us to see that cold snowy Saturday morning, and we pulled up to a beautiful yellow brick house. Alaina was there to greet us. There was a sharp disconnect between the outside and inside of the house. While the outside was boasting newly revitalized original siding, custom porch columns, and a beautiful stained glass window, the inside was completely unfinished. The drywall wasn't up, the aging bones of the house were visible, and half of the wood floors were missing. Maybe this was too much for a first time buyer, I thought. But Alaina just shut her eyes and led us around the house, spouting off her vision. She was spirited, fun, yet firmly professional. "This is where you will bring your guests, I see a barn door here, and a baller status kitchen
with an island there!" We were hooked. She even offered to involve us in finishing the house - we loved the idea of being able to have even a small hand in customizing this old beauty. We made an offer, crossed our fingers, and she reached out personally to congratulate us on securing the home.
Over the next several weeks, Alaina led us novices through the process and asked our opinions about the finishing touches. She was respectful and honored all of our opinions, but also recognized when we were shy and indecisive first time buyers and appropriately took charge. She has excellent style. She found us an antique mantel for our living room, mason jar lights for the guest bathroom, and built us a master bathroom vanity out of an antique sewing machine and segment of a church pew (!). We were able to come over to the house to see the progress whenever we liked - my parents came all the way from Minnesota and she gave them a personal tour. It was fun visiting and seeing her artistic and perfectionist nature as she fussed over the finishing touches. We closed in Spring and she has still always been available for questions and concerns.
Alaina is awesome and Emma and I joke that she seems to cool to hang out with us. We feel so lucky to have met her. She truly built us our dream home. She managed to preserve the charming and historic nature of our house and I beam with pride every time I walk through the door."
